VA GOP Stmt on Dem. Gary McCollum No Longer Being Employed By Cox

VA GOP Statement on Gary McCollum No Longer Being Employed By Cox -- Despite #StolenValor and Cox situation, Dems still think McCollum is a 'Top 3' candidate and they continue to hide his State applications --

September 25, 2015 - Richmond, VA - Last night, Cox Communications released a statement to The Virginia Pilot announcing that Gary McCollum is no longer employed by Cox Communications. Below is RPV's statement on the matter:

"I want to thank Cox Communications for making the right decision by severing ties with a man who has practiced stolen valor for the past fourteen years," said RPV Chairman John Whitbeck. "Sadly, Governor McAuliffe and the Democrat Party are STILL standing behind Gary McCollum despite this reprehensible deception."

"Governor McAuliffe has continued to refuse to release basic FOIA requests regarding Gary McCollum's applications to serve on two state boards and will not comment on McCollum's lies about his service. The Democrat Party of Virginia still refers to McCollum as "one of 3 top-tier candidates" on their website. This all begs the question, what does Gary McCollum have to do before the Democrats disown him?"

"I ask Governor McAuliffe to join everyone else in Virginia and denounce McCollum's lies and obfuscations. Furthermore, I demand he release the FOIA requests he is required to do by law."

Who is McCollum, what did he do, and what does this mean to me? Is this a local issue? State issue? UN issue?

>>McCollum was discharged from the Army as a major in September 2001, according to Army spokesman Ray Gall. McCollum's service information shows he served in both the Army and the Army Reserve, and transferred to the inactive Army Reserve in June 1992 until his 2001 discharge. As a member of the inactive Army Reserve, McCollum had no formal duties or regularly scheduled commitments to the Army.

Stinking liar. This whole thing smells. No one is discharged as an O-4 before 20 unless he did something wrong or had some pressing reason to quit. That aside, the military automatically sends you a colorful discharge certificate (suitable for framing) and thanks you for your service (assuming it was honorable -- another thing to check). You don't "mistake" being a military officer 14 years after you leave the service. To claim the rank of major or any other rank, you must have retired at that rank (20+ years) and been sent a letter authorizing you to apply for retirement.

This bum tried to get away with stolen valor. Glad he was nailed. Surprising it took so long.

This guy is running as a dim against Frank Wagner for VA state senate...
Wagner is a Pub, kinda conservative (a USNA class mate of my hubs) and has been around a while..
The other dude said he was in the Reserves (he isn’t) and works/worked for Cox Cable whose CEO is a dim loving, tax raising SOB...
Apparently this contest is pretty nasty hence the attention to it...
Make of it what you will...
