Many of us have scratched our heads over why a Ted Cruz PAC would donate half a million to a Carly PAC.....

These story is exactly why I think Trump is my current favorite.

All the other major candidates are owned by somebody. They all have multimillionaire/billionaire sugar daddies that have flooded their Super-PACs with tons of loot.

Trump isn't financially-beholden to anyone.

Maybe Carly was real short of money and th r pro-Cruz PAC wanted to give her a reason to endorse Ted when she eventually drops out.

Politicians are all owned by internationalist donors and foreign interests. Wonder why none of them ever say anything against China or Mexico? They are owned by China and Mexico.

Only Trump speaks out against China and Mexico because only Trump is not owned by them nor by any body.

If candidates are legally prohibited from coordinating with these PACs, it stands to reason that the PACs of anti-establishment candidates may not necessarily be operating in the best interests of these candidates.

I’m willing to wager that PACs have given money to other PACs before. Doesn’t this show their independence from teh candidates?

Because the donors told them to. The donors call the tune, and the recipients dance.

Does not apply to Donald John Trump.

Keep The Promise (KtP) Super-PAC is a pro-Ted Cruz PAC run by David Barton. David Barton is also Chairman of Mercury One Charities (Glenn Beck)...
That explains Beck's anti Trump rants...He' scared shirtless.

As someone who has worked for a PAC, let me pipe in here:

The transfer is reported on the FEC “Report of Receipts and Disbursement.” The Cruz PAC put the $500,000 transfer under “Other Disbursements,” but gave no other note as to the purpose of the disbursement. In other words, they notified the FEC that they made the payment, but said, “We’re not telling you why.”

Now, here’s the thing: They did not put it under “Contributions to
Federal Candidates/Committees and Other Political Committees,” or “Independent Expenditures.” In other words, they are not reporting it as a political donation. But CarlyPAC *is* reporting it as a contribution. Contradiction? No, the FEC doesn’t even have a section for payment for services rendered. Any revenue is “contribution.”

Presuming everyone is acting in good faith (simply because this is all out in the open),
Cruz’ PAC didn’t see it as a political contribution, but as payment for something they considered none of the FEC’s business.
CarlyPAC saw it as revenue and simply reported it as such.
FEC saw an apparent contradiction, and wanted to make sure that (in their eyes) Cruz’ PAC shouldn’t have reported it as a political contribution.

So what was it for? Opposition research? CarlyPAC isn’t reporting spending that kind of money on Opp research... at least not as of their July 1 FEC statement. But it could be payment for something in the future.

Is there a reason Cruz would politically support CarlyPAC? Yes. That attack on Planned Parenthood was so much more effective coming from a woman, and I’m sure Cruz is very happy to see social issues come into the debate. But if it was political support, the PAC avoided telling the FEC that.

Money=corruption. The root of all evil, especially in politics. Let us hope Trump is the 2X4 between the eyes that neutralizes at least some of this country destroying corruption. I fully support the First Amendment, but our politics has become nothing but who can get the biggest pile of money.

Why not? Better question: Why do we have a Federal Elections Commission? A free people don’t need central planners.

The FEC is the entire problem!

Freedom of the press implies not having anyone scrutinzing your expenditures for ink or air time.

Exactly why I can't listen to a single word from Glenn Beck. He's the yellowest of yellow haters especially of Trump.

If your going to be critical fine cause there is certainly issues with Trump, but don't be so in the tank.

I've learned that regardless of the talk show host, if you can tell they've chosen a side, they aren't worth listening to anymore.
