I like Cruz, but the fact is that he is a Senator and Senators do not actually do much which is one of the knocks against a Senator running for President. Cruz has given some good speeches and talked about things that nobody else in the Senate would but as far as my research goes, Cruz has not actually gotten much done during his time there. Perhaps you can enlighten me by naming some of his successful legislation? Like him or not, Trump has proven for decades that he can successfully run a large, complex enterprise operation. It basically comes down to wether or not you believe Trump will do as he says because you know he can get things done.
Cruz time in the Senate “not doing anything” is the best argument for him. When the odds are stacked against them, when every single one of your peers sees things differently, it takes incredible fortitude to stick up and fight for your principles. There is no way he could get legislation passed in a Congress run by Democrats and RINOs. The fact that he tried and never caved into them proves to us what he stands for. And we know that as President, when he does have the power, he will continue to fight for the same principles he did when it was much less likely he would successfully pass them.
If we have someone who has a track record of getting things done, it’s only a good thing if they are committed to doing things we want done. If they’re good at getting things done and they want to enact socialized medicine, then that’s not such a good thing. In his speech in Arizona, Trump said “sorry, conservatives” but he believes in universal medical coverage.

I’m not sure what you mean by “get things done”. There has been tons of Senators from both sides getting a lot done but none of it good.
For starters he has sponsored about 25 or more pieces of legislation. Looking at the list of them you will be able to tell what he supports and believes. A bill to repeal Obamacare is one. To allow states to require proof of citizenship to vote is another. In support of the Keystone pipeline. His Senate bill 2195 was passed & signed by Obama.
He served on 5 committees and 8 sub-committees during his short term.
