” However, in his adult life he has not done anything in the “real world”. He has not worked in the private sector. He has not built a business, made payroll, hired/employed/fired employees to/from a payroll that is of his own doing, not on taxpayer dollars.”

You have just shown me that you didn’t read the post in it’s entirety. He has had multiple jobs in the private sector in his adult life from teaching, clerking for law firms and in private law practice. Those jobs were not paid for with taxpayer dollars.

He worked multiple jobs in the private sector while in college. He also formed is own business as a young man when he worked for a water softner company hiring others to work for him, paying wages etc. He learned a lot from doing that and talks about why the little business didn’t succeed. What he learned from that helped to form some of his opinions.

To keep repeating something that isn’t true when you are shown it isn’t true is very troubling.

I never said he was 100% on the money with every vote he made. I think it has been explained over and over again here on FR the strategy that was in play with the treaty vote. If you compare the other candidates who have voting records you will find that he has the best and most conservative of all of the candidates. The one nice thing about not being a politician is that you can say whatever you want people to hear and you have no voting record to come back to haunt you. If you want to put your faith in someone who used to be a dem with no voting record that is up to you.

“not far off from the GOPe on issues such as amnesty. “

I disagree. What is your definition of amnesty? Temporary work permits? And as Trump supporter have said of their candidate “Maybe he can be persuaded or will evolve”. I don’t support more work permits but like I said, compare him to the others. I only have 3 strikes against him on my list. All of the others have plenty more.

You can disagree with me and prefer Trump if you like but please get your facts straight if you are going to criticize another candidate. Ted Cruz has worked in government jobs but he also worked in the private sector in multiple jobs, paid his way through school earning scholarships, working in the private sector and through student loans which he worked to pay back. As for being a pariah in the Congress do you really think Donald Trump would be welcomed with open arms? How well do you think he would have been received if he had been a senator? How well do you think the Congress will receive him as POTUS? You may think he is great but he will face the same difficulties as POTUS as Ted Cruz would. My list of negatives for Donald Trump is much longer than 3 questionable votes and I have a huge trust issue with the man.

As for FOX news I haven’t watched for 4 years now. I didn’t need Donald Trump to show me what FOX was all about. I knew that already. If he does damage to FOX it will make quite a few liberals happy no? It was a dream of theirs to take that network down and discredit it and Trump may just fulfill that dream for them. I see the man much differently than you do. I see him as a pied piper or even maybe a Trojan horse at the worst and probably will be a huge disappointment to his supporters if he is elected. I would not vote for him if he were the nominee. I can only vote for someone who I truly believe is a the most conservative candidate.I also am an independent so feel no party loyalty to vote for whomever the GOP decides upon.

If Donald Trump is elected I sincerely hope that I am wrong and that you are right. For all of our sakes. But if I am right, I will reserve the right to say “I told you so”:)

Very well written and organized information about the candidate you are supporting. Working as a teacher (no disrespect to teachers, they do an honorable service under very difficult circumstances)and owning a water softener business and clerking in a law firm (again, no disrespect)is not quite what I was referring to, but nonetheless, they are private sector employment.

With regard to amnesty...two things. Cruz has not said, to my knowledge, he will build a wall, or even supports it. Nor have I heard him say he supports deportation for illegal immigrants who have committed serious crimes. Cruz also supports a large increase in visas for high tech positions while we have 93 millions Americans unemployed (albeit, not all of them high tech workers).

With regard to his questionable votes on the trade treaty, etc., the “strategy” that was involved?....nonsense...if it is a bad deal, vote against it. It’s not rocket science. None of this “I was for it so I could be against it later when it really counts.” That’s utter nonsense and is just pure politics. And I don’t want to hear about how difficult it is in Congress and how we just don’t understand how the sausage is made. BS.

With regard to Trump being welcomed in Congress? No, I’m sure he won’t be. But that’s because he is the “middle finger” to politics right now and he won’t play their game. However, as an “outsider” it sends a message to Congress. Just like Cantor being primaried and Boehner now resigning. The message is starting to hit home. IF, and it is a big if, Trump is the nominee, and prevails against the maelstrom he is sure to face in the general election, it will mean the message has resounded across the country and the politicians will begin to get it and act accordingly. If not, they know their days in office (and their power) are numbered.

As far as Fox, I agree some liberals will be happy with their downfall, however, I disagree on the cause. It’s not Trump, it’s Fox. If they were truly “fair and balanced”, this would not be an issue. I don’t think Trump was treated badly by Fox in the Fox debate...the tough questions come with the territory. But it has become very obvious they support the establishment and will do everything they can to discredit Trump. I wonder why?

As another post so aptly stated, the first 100 days of the Trump campaign has opened many people’s eyes. There were over 20 million viewers in each of the first two debates. These are primary debates mind you....very few people become engaged in the political discourse of the general election season, let alone the primary process. This is a good thing. He is drawing tens of thousands at each of his speaking engagements, he’s not taking money, he is not owned by special interests and he doesn’t give a c*ap what others think. And he’s still leading in the polls. After all that has been levied on him. Pied piper, perhaps...Trojan Horse, I think you’re over analyzing it like many of the pundits are.

As far as the Repub party goes, I wonder if it outlasts this election cycle anyway.
