As I understand it, Assad is bad but better than ISIS. The Christians in Syria prefer Assad. The middle east is full of crazy leaders. ISIS must be stopped together with their cohorts Boko Haram and Al Qaeda.

Russia support Assad who stirred this up, if Ivan wants to protect a 12% ruling minority, they can.

But Putin has already announced Assad is ready to share power and possibly leave eventually.

Of course, if the Iranian theocratists do the same to its post-election protesters, it is an internal affair. If Israeli IDF accidentally kill a protester or two in the middle of a riot, or a few assailants while boarding a ship bent on breaking a blockade, it is not only an affair involving the entire international community, but the Israelis are guilty regardless of the evidence or even without gathering any evidence.

But OK. Go bomb Assad for Isis, and start a shooting war with Russia into the bargain. At least you can still posture on your high horse.
