My cousin got pregnant at 19. From a boyfriend that had no future plans and no job. I thought my Uncle would explode as I was there when she and the boyfriend told him. Instead he fought his instincts to kill the boyfriend, held in his sheer anger that you could read on his face and tried to teach them both lessons in a loving way. He helped the boyfriend to get a job and in those early years made damn sure he got his butt up and went to work. He let the daughter remain living at home while she finished an associates degree for a job that she still works at today. They are married and my uncle (the whole family) loves my now 23 year old niece.

Don't get me wrong my uncle was furious, felt liked he and my Aunt hadn't raised her properly (they have four other wonderful kids) but came to an understanding that what happened happened and neither the baby, my cousin or her boyfriend were going to die over it, I am sure they have long been forgiven, you can see they have put the work in to having a happy productive family. She could have aborted the baby without her father ever knowing, But she didn't, and although it was hard they worked hard to raise their daughter right and later had another. The first is now a nurse, the second in college. By the way she raised them, I know my cousin learned her lesson. And this story was about MURDER FOR STEALING CONDOMS. Jeesh.

Your uncle dealt with people who tried to do better. That’s great. My problem is with people who feel we should help people who refuse to help themselves and dig themselves deeper. Sometimes we need to recognize lost causes.

I don’t think she was murdered for the theft but for the relations she had with the boy.
