Its not by accident that Putin is stepping on the pedal at this point. He has planned and waited for exactly the right timing. He knows he has a green light to step on the gas for the next 15 months. Its clear sailing; Obama will do nothing regardless of the level of provocation.
Putin has correctly measured the weak and feckless Obama and is playing his cards right.
