The only black mass shooter I can recall was the guy who shot up Washington Navy yard two years ago. Most black perps, on the other hand, seem to prefer one-on-one gun violence. Go figure.

Indeed, the late John Allen Muhammad. Very much a black man. Hard for me to forget him since I have often shopped at the very same Home Depot where he and Lee Malvo murdered poor Linda Franklin.

But his case was at least a bit different — whether or not the difference is racially significant — because unlike the typical white mass shooters, he didn’t kill his victims over a period of minutes, nor were they at a single location. In fact, his murderous spree stretched out for more than a week, and his victims were separated by as much as fifty miles.
