Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says the Republican Party has shifted much further right than the rest of the country — and GOP leaders must get its fringe members in line.
During an appearance at the Washington Ideas Forum on Wednesday, Powell said it “should be obvious to party leaders that they cannot keep saying and doing the things that they were doing and hope to be successful in national-level election in the future, not just in 2016.”

Why don’t we let anyone from anywhere just come into this country whenever they like, regardless of their background, skills, or prior criminal activity? Why not let them just sign up for welfare, medical care, drivers licenses, or schools? Why not let them commit all manner of heinous crimes against American citizens?

Powell is a clear example of a "Republicrat" - claims to be GOP and quick to take the GOP money, but espousing the dem platform and principles.

I don’t know what perfection is anymore, but I tend to think the imperfect that may have learned a thing or two may be better than the perfect one who hasn’t learned that yet.

I think you have named some of the important stage players who have taken the US away from the Founders intent of the US being truly apart from undue ‘foreign’ influence. The Bushes have their Saudi buddies and Powel has his ‘black power’ clique. Clinton and his Chinese operatives also can be put with these groups. Of course such groups are not new to the US political stage. History from WWI is rampant with groups and nations and people wanting to take down the US of the Founders.
Colon is a Republican and Bruce Jenner is a woman. Republican are extremists and Loui Farakhan is a moderate. Amos and Andy have been banned. What is going on?
