Update on Russian Air Strikes: Mosque destroyed, Rebel leader killed, Rebels vow mass beheadings

The Liwa Suqour al-Jabal, one of the CIA-backed groups, said it had been hit by 20 missiles in its base in Idlib province.

Among the dead from Wednesday’s strikes was said to be a prominent rebel leader in north Homs province, Captain Iyad al-Deek, a former regime officer who defected early in the uprising.

The rebels have promised to take the fight to the Russians, some in blood-curdling comments online.

“Is it not time for the knight to mount his steed? Is it not time to cut off the heads? What are we waiting for? What remains?” said one man, Mohammad al-Maghaweer, who claimed to be a front-line fighter with Jaish al-Fatah.

Another fighter, Mukhlif Hussein al-Tamer, from Idlib, said: “My message to the Russian bear - no matter how much you gather your force in Syria, do not think we are afraid of your failing forces.”

The rebels also claimed there were a number of civilians among the dead. "The mosque was virtually destroyed, and there was a body under the ruins, and there were eight wounded, among them a child,” said Tareq Abdul-Haq, a media activist who visited Jisr al-Shughour after the Russian bombing.

He said a “poor, civilian” neighbourhood had been hit.

“We've seen many bombings by the Syrian air force, but people told me the whole town shook when the Russians struck, and the damage and the rubble left behind by their weapons was very big. It was out of the ordinary. Syrian air force bombs can't do this.”

Obama treats the mosques as sacred sanctuaries. The Russians are treating them like the armories and command posts they often are.

With the mosque ammo dumps cleared, maybe Russia will bring out some crowd pleasers like their FOABs and some serious cluster munitions.

Were there secondary explosions when the "Mosque" was destroyed? Was the "Mosque" being used as a meeting place for terrorists? Were the "civilians" armed terrorists who don't wear uniforms? Was the wounded "child" a toddler or an armed 17 y/o terrorist? There are far too many missing details, and I have far too little trust in the press releases of terrorists for this report to worry me. I'll continue cheering for Russia to put an end to the violence in Syria, or at least to come close enough that Assad can restore the rule of law.

Meanwhile ISIS/ISIL sits back and laughs as Russia ignores them entirely.

We will find them anywhere, if we see them in a sh*thouse, we will kill them in the sh*thouse.

So the quote about cutting off heads from our "allies" strikes me funny, when i put it next to the quote from the Russian Foreign Minister...no,

And here it is for those who missed it, or want to use it for an article, etc.

Lavrov said: "If it looks like a terrorist, if it acts like a terrorist, if it walks like a terrorist, if it fights like a terrorist, it's a terrorist, right?"

From this article:

The long-term aim would be to defeat or demoralise the non-Isil opposition, so that Isil became the regime’s only enemy. That would force the West to back President Bashar al-Assad against it.

“They want to clean the country of non-Isil rebels, and then the US will work with them as Isil will be the only enemy," the Damascus source said.

ISIL uses the so called moderate rebels to hide behind.

Oh, of course there was a child injured. Isn’t there always one injured, even when no one can show the injured child? Sorry, Bozo, but I think the Russians are about to unleash some serious hurt on you and they don’t really care about collateral damage. So you go right ahead and keep poking the bear with your pointy stick and let me know how that works for ya.

Is that the same Syrian rebel that John McCain met with? I wonder what he was served for the meetings’ dinner?

I know I’ll get killed for this, but I feel for the 60 percent of the people who wanted Assad to stay in power. A rebellion most likely instigated by our jerk president and armed by CIA. I’m wondering if obummer had anything to do with the creation of the JV team.
