I worked on Marine Corps fighters back in those days.
Using lofting techniques and other tactics our pilots were able to drop "dumb bombs" with surprising accuracy - even way back then.
That was when most aircraft electronics still used vacuum tubes and no one had ever heard of GPS.
I am sure skilled pilots can still drop them where they want them.
