A dear friend of mine who flew back seat in an F-4 in Nam told me that at one point they were running out of or nearly so dumb iron bombs...
Not sure who brought it up but there were mountains of un-fused ordinance on Islands we hopped on in WW2
Dug em up and they blew up real good...
