What’s the point of entering the race a week before the first Democratic debate and then refusing to take part in it?
Will they leave an empty chair or podium on the debate stage to remind everyone that there’s another major Democratic candidate in the race who’s too cowardly to attend?
For weeks Joe Biden has known there would be a debate in mid-October, so he’s had weeks to prepare for it, and if he thought he could win the debate, or even win enough hearts and minds to boost his campaign, wild horses couldn’t prevent him from appearing before twenty million people to show how wonderful he is.
So obviously he doesn’t think he has much to offer. Which is likely to be corroborated every time he steps on a stage and opens his mouth, with or without the usual foot in it.
I agree. What will be his excuse...that he doesn't have enough time to prepare for the debate? He's been the Vice President for the last 7 years. He should already be thoroughly familiar with all of the issues, and be prepared to address them. I'm not rooting for Bernie or Hillary, but if I were them, I'd seize upon this as proof that he's not qualified for the job.
