In a way, he is right. But what we did was right in principle but we walked away from a job unfinished. Thanks to Obama. And he owns it.

So here we are, having pi$$ed away billions of our hard-earned bucks to say nothing of the thousands of dead or maimed young men and women in Boosh’s failed attempt at “nation building.” And tell me, did any of the 911 hijackers come from Iraq? Answer: NO, they were all Saudi’s whom Boosh let leave our country under cover. In truth, we would have been more moral going to war with Saudi Arabia and killing off “the Royal Family” there. The story goes that Boosh wanted to settle the score with Saddam for trying to kill his worthless father, and thought nothing of the losses there in pursuing that “ill-concieved goal.”
So pardon me if I don’t share your idea that somehow the Iraq War was of noble purpose.
Agreed.
There is no argument that the middle east is far less stable now.
But we really needed to deal with Saddam as he was funding terrorism, openly paying families of suicide terrorists, bragging about his nuclear mujadeen (and we did find a lot of yellow cake uranium), and generally an evil person. He’s the only head of state to openly applaud 9/11.
George H. should have taken out Saddam during the first Gulf War. And they should have built a wall to keep Iranian infiltrators out.
What was smart was when Bush said "we're going to kill the terrorists, and any country that hides them or helps them will be treated like them"..... now that was smart, but no one (including Bush) really has the brass to kill 2 or 3 hundred muslims to make it happen.
You could say same about Vietnam war. Yet, we learned for a while, then forgot.
Sort of. I supported getting rid of Saddam, but only as long as we didn’t get into nation building. Of course, under Bush we DID get into nation building, but now I see if you break something like that, you can’t just leave it or the head choppers will have free reign. Bush at least made the effort for that not to happen, but always in America your friends are only good for as long as until the next election.
What was right in principle?
I agree absolutely. As bad as Saddam and Quaddafi were, the alternative are all worse.
Bull! Bush owns it.
