We use the Bayer Seresto Flea and Tick Collar from Bayer on our dogs. No fleas, no ticks and no need to spray. It was recommended by our vet. You might want to ask your vet about it. We got it from Amazon.

Prior to that they were bringing the ticks into the house, which was awful.

I've been looking at that brand online. It's expensive but worth it. Those collars last 8 months, so not really expensive at all!! The small is 15 inches. I'll have to measure his neck, but bear in mind that he is growing (rapidly)! They don't show a medium size collar...LOL.
