He is also leading by just 5 points in Iowa, besting neurosurgeon Ben Carson there 24 to 19 percent, compared to a 7-point lead last month. (in a poll with at least a +2/-2 skew. So the two point change means what? DUH!)

Trump really should give up. Carson's big appearances drawing all of 300 people. In the face of that Trump should gracefully withdraw.

Yes, I know, Trump had appearances that drew 5, 10, 20, and 30 thousand, but in street cred, Carson is the man. Yes I know he can't get folks to give up watching reruns of family feud, but hey, look at those polls.

We all knew that Trump would drop out at some point, and that incredibly accurate poll showing him trailing first place by six points, now that tells you right there he's on the way out.

He has been consistantly in the lead by ten and twenty points for months, and that meant that he would soon drop out.

Him now trailing in one poll of a little over 300 people proves what folks have said all along. Trump won't last.

So for the good of the party, I ask Trump to step down.

When he does, the Democrat part will never have had it so good.

So Donald, do it for the party. The GOPe, the Talking heads, the Pundits, the Leftist media, the Blogosphere, and some FReepers agree.

Do it for the Democrat party.

With you gone, with Democrats voting in the Republican primaries along with moderate Republicans and the Leftist Independents, the Republican party will be left with a Leftist nominee...

The best chance for real change in 80 years, and we will have thrown it away with both hands.

So sure Donald, take a walk bud. You should know when you're not wanted.

RINOs rule. You scared the carp out of them.

You settled down and hawked Conservatism. Even some Conservatives rejected you.

You could handle the press, the GOPe, the Leftist media, the pundits, and drew massive crowds.

You had crossover Democrats, Women, Blacks, and Hispanics supporting you.

Unfortunately Conservatives were looking for a better candidate.

Withdraw. And when you do Donald, Conservatism is dead.

Nobody will take a stupid idiotic unrewarded chance on it again.

Turn the lights out folks. If you can't see value in Trump, the movement is done.

We can't get a run of the mill Conservative nominated. Haven't done it since 1984, and that was his second term. We haven't done it for a new guy since 1980, and it took a guy as bad as Jimmy Carter to give him an opportunity.

Hanging by a thread, a fellow lowers a big fat rope, and you reject it.

Conservatism simply doesn't deserve to win with people this stupid.

So please Donnie, take a walk. Live out your life in comfort. Let the average guy remain out of work. Let our nation fall farther behind. Let it be over-run by foreign nationals. Let all the terrorists come here that want to.

Folks simply didn't truly want our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and those racist Founding Fathers, what a bunch of idiots.

Hillary, Bernie, go for it. Many of us won't vote for you, but then we won't be voting for the idiot on our side either.

Adios Trump! Sucker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See there, they told us. Things would be perfect if only you would drop out.

For who? Certainly not for our team.

And if our team is that stupid collectively, then it's clear the GOPe has been making the wise move.

Nobody does want Conservatism any longer.

Oh sure, they'll vote for a guy that can't get nominated, forgive him anything to trash others. But they can't convert their energy to a win.

Conservatism, I will die wishing there were others who truly wanted to dominate with that as our ideology.

What a sucker I was. Trump, you're not perfect, but bud, you and I are certainly a perfect set of suckers.

What possessed you to desire Conservatism? I spent decades thinking I had fellow travelers. Nope.

Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney... NEXT!

Step right up Bush, Rubio, or Fiorina. It's your turn.

Where did you hear Trump was not financing social conservatives?

As far as I know, Trump is a military conservative, fiscal conservative (are’nt all successful businessmen), borders conservative, against violent criminals conservative, building the wall conservative (so we have a country), deport illegals conservative, protect senior’s earned entitlement conservative, against common core conservative, against cap & tax conservative, take better care of wounded vets conservative, lowering income tax for middle class conservative, defeat ISIS quickly conservative, avoid wars with no gain to show (Iraq) conservative, and stop China from stealing our middle class jobs conservative.

Trump has said he is for one man one woman marriage, he is against abortions unless mother’s life is at stake, and he loves the bible more than any other books including his own. But he really needs to become a hard right social conservative. May be he should bomb abortion clinics. And put all gays in jail. Yes he has some room there.

LOLOLOL.

Now had you composed a much nastier and nonsensical scribe and thrown in several misspellings, typos and indiscriminate CaPS...lol...you would have given me and a few selective and very appreciative others some rip roaring laughs.

As it is, however, I’ve laughed and laughed regardless. LOL.
I’m particularly appreciative of your use of “Donnie.” Yes, that is endearing and lets me know that you had the same poster in mind.

The RNC's thinking seems to be that while Trump is still leading in the polls, he isn't leading as much. Therefore he should drop out.

Notice that the same reasoning is never applied to Jeb Bush. Jeb has dropped from first or second place to single digits and third or fourth place, yet no GOP establishment talking heads are demanding that Jeb drop out.

I am beginning to think that the difference between those of us who support Trump and those that don’t comes down to two factors.

1. Those of us who think our country is hanging off the cliff, holding on by her fingernails.

2. Those of us who have the optimism to believe we can save her.

A little premature to focus on Hillary. If Biden jumps in (looking more likely now) Hillary will not necessarily win nomination. Besides voters are notorious for short memories.

Right now task#1 for Trump is to win GOP nomination. There will be almost 3 months afterwards to focus on democrat nominee, whoever it is. 3 months is stretching voter’s attention span already!

A successful businessman is successful because he/she learns to prioritize what needs done first. Whether Trump is operating correctly or not is best judged by looking at all polls done each week.

I agree, but I’m no longer convinced we can save it.

I see very little evidence of a group that actually wants to save it. The best chance to reset things in 30 years, and we have folks demanding we take a pass on it.

Good grief.

Then there's a third category. People such as myself, who agree with you on 1, but are skeptical of Trump's sincerity and ability to accomplish 2. It seems to me that you need blinders like a horse to ignore his past statements and actions so thoroughly as not to be troubled by them.

So far, the best thing going for Trump is that he isn't Jeb, Rubio, and the rest. With them, I'm 100% certain we'll get a dud. With Trump, there's a nonzero but small chance that he'll actually try to accomplish what he's now talking about.

It can be saved. It won’t happen over night but getting Trump into the White House is the first step.

Trump’s appeal is his “Americanism” and his supporters want it saved.

You’ll get no argument from me.

I know that he would turn things around.

That really seems to anger some folks.

Maybe you need faith instead of blinders.

Every single person that knows Trump says he is loyal. He will be loyal to his voters and he knows they will be voting for him based on his campaign promises.

The 3 policy papers he has published are his promises so far.

"That really seems to anger some folks."

They will get over it.

Their anger stems from not being able to control the Trump support.

They are either GOPe supporters who had their candidates campaigns torpedoed by Trump or they are conservatives who think Trump is sucking the life out of their candidate's campaigns.

They would rather blame Trump than their candidate's lack of real support.

“The media is so dishonest, it’s so disgusting,” Trump said of how his remarks were interpreted in coverage of his campaign. “I’m not getting out. I’m going to win.”

LOL. People say that Trump has no military experience, but I say the biggest battle we have is with the media.

This why he almost never accepts the premise. Look what journalists do if he does. He should keep attacking. I think most would trade the current bunch of pundits for one Trump surprisingly more cogent and insight. Also he has a habit of predicting the future accurately. Personally anytime he gets to slap the press I find it adding to his appeal. These people are full of jackassery.
