U.S. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy appears to have locked up enough support among his fellow Republicans to be nominated for speaker, but has not nailed down the 218 votes needed to be elected by the full chamber, Republican lawmakers said on Wednesday.

House of Representatives Republicans are scheduled to cast secret ballots on Thursday on their choice to replace House Speaker John Boehner, who is resigning from Congress on Oct. 30.

McCarthy’s comments on Hillary and Benghazi show that he is incompetent.

Especially one who’s even less intelligent than Boehner.

Why secret ballots? Don’t we have a right to know how our representatives voted on this crucial issue?

That moronic comment was a life preserver to the sinking S.S. Hildebeast. She is running an ad on it and I wouldn’t put it past her to refuse to testify because of it.

Anyone who steps on the business end of a rake that way is not fit for speaker.

Unless it was on purpose. Boehner did all he could to help democrats, and McCarthy is his trainee.

his town wants him back.

Nope.

Talk show callers from Bakersfield and Ventura County make that clear.

Your right. McCarthy should go back to his hick town of Bakersfield and run for city council.

No problem, the Dems will come to his rescue. I mean, if I were a Dem, I can’t think of a better speaker.

His comment was so over the top that I wondered: Is McCarthy really this inept and stupid or did he do it on purpose to help Clinton.

I did not support Rep. McCarthy because he is a corporate, crony RINO.
Now he is shown to be dangerously incompetent.
Real conservatives may lose many offices and perhaps, the Presidency itself, due to McCarthy's blunder.

Utterly, completely and totally incompetent. In one fell swoop he has neutered both the Benghazi and Email issue.

Imagine the disaster if he becomes Speaker. Just waiting for the Dims to decide to vote for him.

Plenty of Democrats in the House will vote for him, he has this in the bag.

This is a survey or a straw poll. The real one is in public.

This one just let everyone know that McCarthy does not have 218. He has the most, but not enough.
