John Kasich: ‘God Bless’ Illegal Immigrants-Illegal immigrants are “a critical part of our society”

Illegal immigrants are “a critical part of our society” and should be provided a route to amnesty, Republican presidential candidate John Kasich tells a coalition of Hispanic company executives.

“For those that are here that have been law abiding, God bless them,” he told the business group, which is a major advocate for expanded immigration.

“Then I think the [illegals] should have a path to legalization… I think that can pass,” Kasich said, using one of the euphemisms for granting legal residency to illegal immigrants.

The Ohio governor also claimed the illegal immigrants are skilled. The illegals “are a critical part of our society from doctors to engineers to lawyers– well, I don’t know if we need more of them [lawyers]– but we’ve got a lot of teachers, whatever,” he said.

Kasich also told the group that one of his top priorities is “expand[ing] the guest workers.”

Currently, the nation annually imports roughly 700,000 short-term guest-workers — plus 1 million legal immigrants, a few hundred thousand additional short-term workers and roughly 350,000 lower-skilled illegal workers — to compete for jobs against the roughly 4.5 million Americans who turn 18 each year.

Is Kasich pandering to the illegal aliens in this country? Does he want to change existing laws to favor law breakers?

There is a path to legalization. Illegals have to return to their home countries and apply for citizenship in the USA. It is that simple. And, we need no new laws!

Kasich apparently is for no borders and no country.

Either he’s joking and he isn’t funny.

Or he’s serious and he’s downright scary

In truth, God cares very little about ‘manmade’ laws. Especially ‘immigration’.

However, those ‘illegal immigrants’ don’t mind breaking the Ten Commandments either so...

Given their first act in this country was to break its laws, that would mean ... none.

It sounds to me like he’s poisoning the well for any pubbie. He knows that he isn’t going to make the cut so he’s pandering to the left with the knowledge that no viable pubbie candidate hold those views.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS: GAO FINDS WELFARE PROBLEM

Monday, November 24, 1997
Federal welfare programs paid “[m]ore than $1 billion” in
benefits in 1995 to “illegal immigrant families because some of
their children are U.S. citizens, according to” a General
Accounting Office report released last week. The GAO analysis,
commissioned by Congress “as part of last year’s welfare
overhaul,” said federal assistance to the American children of
illegal immigrants “also helps support the child’s family,
raising concerns about the use of public assistance by those
illegally in the United States.” Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), the
cosponsor of legislation “that would require children to have at
least one citizen or legal resident parent in order to be granted
citizenship upon birth,” said, “It’s obvious that there’s a huge
loophole in immigration law.” The GAO report concluded that
“[p]ayments to U.S. citizen children of illegal immigrants
accounted for about three percent, or $700 million, of all” AFDC
payments made in FY 1995, “up from two percent — or $479 million
— in 1992,” the AP/Washington Post reports. In addition, the
GAO noted that “[m]ost AFDC recipients also receive Medicaid,
which on average provides more than $1,000 per child each year
for health care expenses” (11/23).

LOGICAL CONCLUSION
Mike Nadel, the author of the GAO study, said that because
the “AFDC benefit remained steady ... the rapid rise in payments
must be a result of a flood of illegal immigrant parents applying
for such benefits.” The GAO concluded that the “vast majority of
illegal immigrants receiving welfare benefits on behalf of their
U.S.-born children live in California, Texas and Arizona”

(O’Connell, Scripps Howard/Washington Times, 11/23). Health and
Human Services Department Inspector General June Gibbs Brown said
the Clinton administration “clearly supports all federal efforts
to deter illegal immigration.” However, she said “our mission
also requires us to improve the health and economic self-
sufficiency of all citizens ... including the citizen children of
immigrant parents” (AP/Washington Post, 11/23).

I’m a patient man, but John Kasich needs to go away. He walks like a Democrat and quacks like a Democrat.

He just needs to go ahead and cross the aisle. He doesn’t even qualify as a RINO any more.
