Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has suggested that Barack Obama was not a “real black” president in a tweet praising Republican candidate Ben Carson on Wednesday night.
Murdoch, who has repeatedly praised Carson in recent months, tweeted: “Ben and Candy Carson terrific. What about a real black president who can properly address the racial divide? And much else.”
He then directed followers to an article in New York magazine that he said showed “minority community disappointment” with the president’s record.
However, his earlier tweet directly implied that Obama, whose mother was a white American and whose father was a Kenyan studying in the United States, did not deserve to be classified as African American. Both of Carson’s parents were black and born in the United States.

Herman Cain proffered himself in 2012 as potentially becoming America’s first real black president.
I don’t recall ANY pushback on his statement at the time.
So, I suppose it’s ok that Herman Cain said it, but not a white guy.

Wait a minute. We all know that Trump is the only person who does gaffes. What Murdoch says, or what McCarthy are not gaffes, screw-ups, they are statements.
Otherwise, we would be waiting for a media frenzy for McCarthy to step down, slit his wrists, and for Murdoch to resign.

“Does gaffes” sounds like something he does on the side to earn extra income. “Makes gaffes” sounds like something he does as a faux pas.

He’s real and he is black. Assuming that no other real black would do things differently is a big leap. Assuming Rupert could pick a better president would be pretty stupid. It is a pretty idiotic to assume that he, Rupert, can choose a real black from a non real black.
