The McLean Citizens Association (MCA) Board will have a meeting Wednesday evening to discuss the current predicament involving a new gun shop and a local elementary school.

Franklin Sherman Elementary School is located right behind the newly-opened NOVA Firearms in McLean. Local community members started protesting the gun store soon after its open. Some parents claim they are even pulled their kids out of school as a result of threats they received because of the protests.

NOVA Firearms owner James Gates said the shop officially opened up about two weeks ago to about 120 protesters. Even so, Gates said the protesters haven’t quite had the negative affect they were probably hoping for.

“To be honest, they made us more popular,” Gates said. “They brought in more business than they would have stopped.”

Fairfax County Board of Supervisors member John Foust has publicly said he wants to convince the shop owners to relocate.

This young man first tried to move his store to a location in Arlington, but the libs intimidated the surrounding stores and mall owner, who then canceled the lease before the store opened. Now the libs are trying to do the same thing at this location.

Daily News: The NRA is A Terrorist Organization

By Robert Farago on October 5, 2015

A columnist for a major American newspaper has called for the State Department to include the National Rifle Association on their list of state sponsors of terrorism. Let that sink in for a moment. New York Daily News columnist Linda Stasi wants America’s oldest civil rights organization classified as a terrorist group. Which would make NRA members terrorists or, at the very least, supporters of terrorism. Commentators have snickered and pointed out the delicious irony of someone named Stasi advocating the use of federal power to roll back an enumerated civil right. But branding the NRA a terrorist organization could well be a sign of things to come. Check out Stasi’s “logic” . . .

One terrorist group is responsible for more civilian deaths since December 2012 (the Sandy Hook massacre) than Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, Hamas and the Taliban. Yet it is the only nearly-state sponsored terrorist group that is not listed by the U.S. State Department as such.

It is the National Rifle Association and for their unending lobbying that’s kept a lid on gun control we now have 428 times more American deaths by gun than deaths by foreign terrorists.

NOVA Firearms is being targeted by current Fairfax County Board of Supervisor member John Foust. Mr Foust has said publicly that he wants to shut down NOVA Firearms. (Foust has an opponent in the elections in November – Jennifer Chronis.)

Can someone please explain to me why it’s supposedly dangerous to have a gun store near an elementary school?

It sounds to me like the threat is presented by the PROTESTORS, not the gun shop. Craziness!

And just what is the hazard because the store in near an elementary school. Are the kids going to walk in and buy one of those fearsome black assault rifles? Or is a feared school shooter going to opt for the convenience of buying their weapon just next door to save the commute? Do I need a sarcasm tag?

Because the liberals are on an anti-gun crusade, and the mere sight of a gun store offends their sensibilities.

Remember, we’re dealing with liberals here. Liberals do not need any logical reason for their position on an issue. All they need to explain anything is to be “offended”. And when a liberal is “offended” they expect the rest of us to sit down and shut up. They don’t feel they need any other reason than being “offended” about anything.

“Can someone please explain to me why it’s supposedly dangerous to have a gun store near an elementary school?”

Because, according to the useful idiots, guns are BAD. Must indoctrinate the children.

But if that’s the thinking, there shouldn’t be any drug stores, liquor stores, auto repair shops etc.. in the area either.

And the reason you ask? Well, drugs are bad, booze is bad and cars cause globull warming.

Welcome to the useful idiots’ game.

The ATF is a terrorist organization. It’s state-sponsored, and it knowingly and criminally allowed guns to be sold to known criminals, who were knowingly allowed to walk the guns to Mexico (amounting to illegal export) and then it used the resulting jump in crime rates, including the murder of a Border Patrol agent, to push for additional anti-gun laws. “Terrorism - using violence or intimidation for political purposes.”

“Prior to the gun store being there if you saw someone with a gun you’d be able to assess that threat much easier,” said Matt Lampy, the father of a Franklin Sherman fourth grader. “

Except VA is an open carry state.

“Can someone please explain to me why it’s supposedly dangerous to have a gun store near an elementary school?”

Because, apparently, these guns jump out of the store and can run down the street on their own to terrorize people.

McLean has long been a liberal suburb of DC. Fairfax used to be conservative until about 1988 but then the hordes of government workers and elites overcame the native conservative base. Take a lesson from this as this is what is being done to the entire country. Dilute the base and then conquer with laws and public opinion. The majority soon becomes enslaved to the former minority. Worse yet, the new ruling class has a sense of entitlement and soon devises ways to take from others. Hence we now have the concepts of “white privilege” , “black lives matter (and white, Latino, Indian, Asian, etc. don’t)”, and a new surge of socialists and communists.

Because it draws mentally unstable liberal protestors into the area, endangering the children?

Because guns kill people!!!! They take over the persons mind, reason, and spirit and force the unwilling person to take up a gun and kill everyone he/she sees. Being next to an elementary school the young minds will not be able to resist the collective thought control that will be exerted by all of those guns in one location. We would see all the young students, slowly, over time, become, well, Zombies mindlessly getting guns in their hands and begin the process of killing other innocent victims that had not yet succumbed to mind control of guns. {sarcasm to the maximum allowed in Free Republic}

In the late 50’s, my Brother carried his .22 Bolt Action Rifle to High School in New York. Nobody blinked an eye.

He was in the Gun Club there and they had a Gun Range in the School Basement. How times have changed.
