I really believe he would, unless he has something else in mind....could be that Trump wants him as A.G. which Trey would be might great at....

Trey is a Tea Party believer, and we need someone in there that will say what needs to be heard....

We need to open all the closets and clean out the bones...Trey would do that....

“As shocked members left the meeting there was a sense of total disarray”

Drama queen at the NYT in full “oh no, what can we do” mode.

I know nothing about Kevin McCarthy other than he was reelected several times and rose to a position in the House leadership.

He is clearly not ready to handle predictable media attacks and attacks from the Clintons.

He probably just decided he did not want the job.

I heard him state he is against amnesty though he supported guest worker reform like Cruz. If he was lying about that then my opinion of him as even a member would change. No amnesty ever. End of story.

Am I a horrible person for embracing the chaos of 2015 that has seen Jeb drop to low single digits and Boehner filing for retirement?

Mitch McConnell to the white courtesy phone. Paging Mr McConnell...

There’s not a pol in America who doesn’t claim to be against amnesty—they simply redefine the term to whatever they’d like.

See 123. I can be convinced you are right and if you are then that would change my position. I am unalterably opposed to amnesty of any kind.

Exposed ‘bones’ out seem to be a problem with the leadership these days...

Oh, trust me, it is. Imagine not only a RINO, but someone who CAN’T SPEAK as Speaker.

Derp.

Jones asked that any candidate who has committed “misdeeds” withdraw.

That is the real reason.

That may be, but it seems she has saved America from another establishment speaker. For now.

It needs to be someone who is tough, and willing to articulate the conservative position well-enough to withstand the media onslaught when Obama shuts down the government.

The CR expires on Dec 11th. No way this beltway GOP bunch has a shut down fight with the kenyan before Christmas after surrendering to him for years. Not going to happen. It’s over except for maybe amnesty & TPP. Obama will get the budget he wants regardless of who is elected Speaker.

Doesn't it make you wonder why the founding fathers incorporated that provision ?

Seems to be in keeping with the Founders idea of the government being "of the people' as opposed to a government comprised of a semi-permanebt class of professional politicians who conduct themselves (and treat themselves) as near royalty, such as we have today.
