I’m glad you brought up the Sheriff because people tend to forget there is no one in a county with more legal authority when it comes to enforcing the Constitution.
That is why they would be in immediate trouble if they tried gun confiscation. The good County Sheriffs could deputize a whole bunch of good guys to back them up if need be.
