I think you hit the nail on the head. They were too busy supporting LGBT and saving Bergdahl to worry about one Section 8 who could be separated without veteran status.

Yep. Was watching the baseball playoff game last night and the “Army” commercials were laughable. Have you seen them?

The army was not meant to be a social experiment.

But watching the commercials, it appears to be that is the ONLY REASON for its existence. Pathetic.
