Rita you rock! You are one of the few around here who make sense - most are just knee jerk reactions with no thought behind their posts.

Newt is brilliant and if we had a Parliamentary system, he would have been Prime Minister a long time ago. Newt would be the perfect interim Speaker. He would spend time engaging the dems in a good honest debate, always challenging both sides. Surprisingly, he would be a breath of fresh air and I think the voters would like him. We have not had an engaging personality on our side since Newt! Newt is not status quo.

We don’t have a parliamentary system. If you don’t like the US constitution and prefer that system of government, there are plenty of countries to choose from.

Gingrich didn’t balance the budget. He and the other thieves robbed Social Security and left a huge IOU on the existing pile.

We’re supposed to learn from our mistakes, not repeat them.

YOU make the far better point, Dave! You’re right. Newt was Churchillian, in style, dogged and stubborn. Both men were given a very hard time, and I say again that we should be proud of whom their enemies were.

The loons in the House that despised Newt and harrumphed about their work load are the same stinking establishment bulls of today, all who have cheerfully SOLD OUT the entire party to the Democrat in the White House, and our country, even with huge majority. More about that later.

It’s never enough for these Establishment types, but the evidence of collapse leads straight to the door of these guys and the key to that door is in the form of their endless determination to capitulate to the Democrat in the White House.

Now about that majority in the House. The establishment despise the power of the purse. Can you believe it? The only hook in their pants is the power of the purse. It interferes with their false narrative that they can not do anything, because of a presidential veto, or because there is not a filibuster proof senate.

Newt, come back. :) Thx, Dave.
