“If there was a “genetic” component for homosexuality it would have been eliminated ions ago thru natural selection.”

Certainly not. It is likely an inherited genetic trait common to countless species which was utilized as a feature that could be turned on and off in some species to accomplish certain population and gender controls in the population of the species. For example, there are many species, which have the inborn genetic ability to change reproductive sex one or more times during the organism’s lifetime. many species of fish have this genetic capability. Much of this so-called “junk” DNA actually has capabilities which are turned off in a given species. When such “junk” DNA accidentally gets turned on by some kind of gestational and/or environmental conditions, you see some rather bizarre birth defects.

“...the inborn genetic ability to change reproductive sex one or more times during the organism’s lifetime.”

Higher forms of life? For instance?
