After the initial euphoria, Germany now faces daily clashes in refugee centres, a rising far-right, a backlog of registrations, and dissent among the ranks of Angela Merkels government.
The realities of shouldering Europes refugee crisis are coming home to Germany, amid daily reports of clashes in asylum seeker homes; bureaucrats overwhelmed by a backlog of registration claims and deep divisions within chancellor Angela Merkels conservative ranks over how to manage the enormity of the challenge.
Just weeks after Merkel responded to the refugee crisis with the declaration: Wir schaffen es We can do it the euphoric mood has been replaced by a more sombre response with the realisation that the newcomers are here to stay, with all the consequences that entails.
School authorities are calling for at least 25,000 new teaching recruits to cope with the large numbers of new pupils, police officers are being brought out of retirement in their thousands, and the nation is being scoured for suitable accommodation as winter approaches....

“Germany expected a great, big global pat on the back”
Merkel was expecting The Nobel Peace Prize, thank goodness she didn’t get it. If she had of her response would have been absolutely excruciating.
Denmark’s government have also placed advertisements in all Middle Eastern and African newspapers telling them NOT to come to Denmark because they’re not wanted there.
NOBODY in Europe wants them, only Merkel and her puppet, the former CORRUPT PM of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker, now the President of the European Commission and the mega thug Martin Schulz President of the European Parliament, who is also corrupt.
In two hundred years there won’t be enough Germans to keep the language alive... Germany is committing cultural suicide and this mass immigration stupidity is part of that...
Obama with is insane call for the third world to invade the United States and overwhelm us with problems is similar...
I know about Denmark; thanks for confirmation. They’re doing the right thing. Their income tax has been very high since the 1970’s at least; additional welfare won’t be good news.
Merkel is originally from what used to be East Germany before the Unification in the early 1990’s. Often wondered if that had anything to do with her current views and stance.
Merkel was a Communist, she even was recruited whilst at University to work in Propaganda for the Stasi.
When the Berlin Wall fell, she wanted to stay in politics. Naturally she joined the CDU, we know now obviously because they win the most elections, an opportunist therefore.
The woman did a good pretence of being Centre-Right, but we now know that she’s hidden her Marxist real-self until now, when it’s burst forth for all to witness, in all it’s horrifying glory.
Politically she’s finished, she’ll be thrown overboard, her poll numbers are dropping like a lead zeppelin. I think by January Germany’s going to have a new Chancellor, at least pre-Spring.
The way this utter insanity stops is with the removal of Merkel.
Hmm, not surprised about her political orientation. Interesting times in Europe. Yes, I think we can expect a big political change in Germany.
This is only going one of two ways:
The CDU-CSU throw Merkel overboard and replace her or they’ll be a coup, possibly violent and Merkel could get harmed during that ala Ceaucescu.
