Ahh...you do realize that Iraq (whose planes hit the convoy) has now entered into a de facto coalition/aliance with Russia? They did this in the absence of effective American leadership under fearless leader Obama.

Iraq's Air Force claim to have hit a military convoy carrying the leader of Islamic State Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi in Iraq.
A military statement claimed the strike had taken place in the Iraqi province of Anbar but admitted it was unclear if al-Baghdadi had been killed.
It is thought Iraqi jets targeted the convoy as it was travelling for a meeting close to the Syrian border in Western Anbar today.
The location of the meeting was also targeted by the Iraqi Air Force, who claimed 'many of the group's leaders were killed and wounded'.
If I was a highly-sought ISIS leader, I wouldn't go NEAR a convoy. I'd be sneaking around in a lone pickup truck with a cargo of melons in the back.
