The Jews in Warsaw were few in number and they had a wretched assortment of guns, but they tied up the Germans for quite some time. With training and better guns, they could have done more.
And note that this isn't really a question of a rabble of citizens defeating a modern army in the field. This is about citizens being able to make life hard for a dictator and about breathing hope into others so that people begin standing up to the government. People who can defend themselves do not have to be sheep.
But if you take the guns, the men have little choice but to be sheep. And sheep are led to the slaughter.

There is a difference between blaming and saying things might have been different.
The blame lies with Hitler and his policies, one of which was disarmament of the public.

Actually, Ben Carson is right on the money.
One qoute attributed to the camps is something to the effect of “If only, when they had sent the SS door to door, a few of us had open fired and made the rest of them afraid to do their job, we might not be in this mess.” - paraphrased

Where I come from basketball is black guy and Jewish guy sport. Yeah lots of white Christians too but per capita I would say Blacks and Jewish. I personally hate the game. I’ll stick with baseball, football and outdoor sports (hunting fishing shooting).

I just hate how the lib media and lib activists are trying to twist his statement.
Then explain the fact that a few million modern day Israelis have been able to hold off a half billion medieval knuckledraggers by force of arms.
If the Jews of Europe had easy access to weapons back then things surely would have been somewhat different...if not *very*.
Actually, Jews were big in pro basketball before the blacks took over.

I’m not either especially after his ignorant statements on the economy and government. The Holocaust remarks may have been blown up but it all feeds into the growing perception Carson is wholly unprepared for the Oval Office and no one is going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
