That law still existed in the early 60’s.
Wow!
I assume Maine repealed it on their own, but I’ve thought it might be challenged on a broad interpretation of the US Constitution’s prohibition of poll tax (Amendment 24, ratified in 1964).
And the elephant in the room that Dr. Carson doesn’t dare even bring up: wholly illegal/unconstitutional.
All else if icing on the cake on why is NEEDS to be demolished.
I’d actually go one more than some have posted (on welfare, no voting). I’d add not paying income taxes = no voting; fact, it should be the more you pay the more you get to vote (20%-tile, 2 votes, 30%-tile, 3 votes).
Except you’d hear the gnashing of dentures there (broken-hip-3rd-rail) /s
Cruz, Carson, Trump. These men, against the enormous pressure of the “popular press” are saying out loud the things freepers and our friends have been saying for years and years.
They aren’t only campaigning for president, they are educating Americans. They are saying simple things, and they are TELLING THE TRUTH. No one in Washington has done that in decades.
In comparison, Bush and Kasich, Rove and Beck, Goldberg and Will make the right look like pale shadows of fear.
We are fortunate to have them.
I did all that years ago. I also make sure my donations go to small, specific charities. I have a few but one is...
I buy nice wigs and give them to our local cancer center that treated my mom for almost free. They have a free giveaway to patients who can’t afford them.
I give to stuff like that. I still give clothing, etc. to Goodwill but mainly for the write off and just they are so dang convenient to give to.
The rest can all kiss it.
I don’t give to Goodwill, they are not very return efficient as far as their mission. I give to local women’s and children’s shelters.
The problem the left has with Carson is that he can destroy their PC shield and speak the truth about any topic.
We have one about a mile away with a drive thru. I don’t even have to get out of the car. Only reason.
