Imagine Hillary at the time saying, “Let’s forget Watergate

Speeches are fine, but having to sharply defend your position against an aggressive opponent in a debate is another.

She did sound a little rattled in regards to those e-mails though, that is why Bernie jumped in to support her.

Yes.

Online polls are not remotely scientific.

Hillary only appears prepared because she was given the questions weeks ahead of time at the expense of her opponents. It was all coordinated to make her look good.

That will not change in the general election. In fact, it will get worse.

Let me add this: The Democrats were hard to watch. No one showed any charisma. There was no one with crisp answers. Chafee is from the JV team.

It was the venomous entitlement of a parasite who believes that those who work should support ‘leftectuals’ like him and Karl Marx while they draw up plans for a post-economic economy.

Nailed it!

“Can you name a single specific proposal put forward by Hillary Clinton?”

Not at this point.. That was only the first debate of the dems’ primary. But it’ll come from their side and the GOP nominee will need to be highly prepared to definitively counter it. It’s going to have to be more than, “it’s a great deal — such a terrific deal, you’ll be bored with winning.”

Looking at it strictly from the perspective of the Democrat base, I'd say that Bernie won, Hillary was a close second, and O'Malley may have picked up a few points. I see no point in Webb or Chaffe staying in the race after last night. Chaffe reminded me of Lawrence Welk, and Webb reminded me of Ted Baxter.

My preference on the Republican side is Ted Cruz. I think he'll wipe the floor up with any of the people who were on the stage last night.

I'm beginning to think ... No, he doesn't

In the last couple of days I've been meditating on the phrase .. "The Will Of The People"

A very powerful force, wouldn't you say?

Go down to the store and get me a pound of People Will.

See?

I know it's there, I know I need it but it's one of those nebulous commodities needed to sustain (a national) life

It's not some tangible in and of itself, it's something generated from within a person and is manifested in thought and action

THAT is (one of the magic) trick(s) of Trump

He's a successful sales manager and motivator

And in my experieence as a successful commissioned salesman for 11 years under a successful sales manager, The manager just has an inate knowledge of people and gets things done

The commissioned manager gets a pimple from his sales force, so it is to his advantage to get his team successful

Maybe we should be asking .... what will Trump get for being a successful President?

And would it be so bad .... for America .... if he does get something HUUUUUUGGGGGGE.

Every ex-pres (except Carter) gets a lot of money, security, creature comforts etc., just by talking ... making speeches ... THEY "get" something out having been President

But they never left our nation in great shape like Trump is promising.

I got a penful of People Will prepared for Novemberm 2016 I intend to send to Trump

(I left out Reagan only because he was eventuaslly followed by weaker men that destroyed anything he had done .... trying to look at a much larger picture, here)

“A night the Democratic Party should be ashamed of.”

The Demoronic Party is incapable of shame.

"He’ll have to get far more specific when making his points."

True. Trump is a Class 'A' Bullsh!tter. And that is why if you are looking for the strongest conservative, Cruz is the better option. Trump is the drunk uncle at Thanksgiving dinner. Relentlessly bloviating between every bite. When pressed for something a little more specific, Trump falls back on "Well, I'm going to have smart people taking care of that, you'll see."

I'm all for what he has done for stirring things up, shining the light on the idiots in the media and he's nailing the issues with his sound bites. But, I cringe when Trump resorts to the "just wait, you'll see!" bull crap. He's making it up as he goes along and if one can't see that then they are no smarter than the Hillary or Bernie supporters.

Probabably because she had the questions in advance.

Possibly, but we don't know that. Point is... the nominee who faces her in the general had better be ready when debate time comes.

Online polls are not remotely scientific.

No poll is "scientific". There is no "science" in polling. The whole industry is an exercise in manipulation and obfuscation, with plenty of bias thrown in for good measure.

As has often been said before, the only poll that matters is the one that happens on Election Day. And these days, even that has been completely corrupted and compromised, and is barely more credible than any of the polls which precede it.

Exactly. If Trump were the nominee, that avoidance technique won't fly. It does for now in the primary, because that's a more emotionally charged environment.

Those garbage online "polls" have no validity to them at all. No survey that allows respondents to repetitively make selections is anything more than a laughable pastime.
