Trump is turning Cruz supporters against Cruz. You see it around here bad.

What I observe are a LOT of FReepers are clearly stating they support Cruz first, but it comes down to DJT as the nominee, they will vote for him in the general election.

There is a small minority of FReepers that are lined up ready to nominate DJT, even if he is in the middle of an eminent domain lawsuit to take their house from them for a casino parking lot. They tend to fault Cruz in spite of themselves.

Wish and hope, with little real chance of this happening.

I like Ted Cruz, I really do, and honestly believe in a sane world, he would have sailed right to the top of the ratings and ranked right there in terms of overwhelming electability.

But these are not sane times, far from it. The Donald succeeded in his improbable rise to the top of the heap purely because he pays little or no attention to the prevailing wisdom, that is is “not smart” to be politically incorrect. So far, that strategy has paid off well, but then it is a badly skewed world out there, and most of the old ways of doing business in the political arena are no longer of much relevance.

The Donald could use a darned good Attorney General, though. Or an appointee to the Supreme Court. And either of those, or perhaps both, could be the greatest legacy of all for Ted Cruz.

lawyers who are parasites on the creative builders.

You know if it weren’t for this lawyer, Cruz, (and him, alone!) your constitutional rights would now be subservient to the global World Court, right?

Why not just say thank you?

Until Cruz walks back his H1-B visa and immigration stances, he will never gain traction.

That Cheap Labor Express and Big Donor Bankroll anchor will drown him.

Cruz might want to avoid Twitter for the next few days...

That stuff is great for us wonks, but to the rank and file voter it is background noise on CSPAN.

Most people don’t even know how many people are in the senate, leat alone who McConnell even os.

But they see Trump tear into Bush, and the press in everyday language that goes viral on the internet, and gets talked about in platforms from the evening news, to Twitter and late night talk shows, and they immediately get it.

That’s the difference.

I don’t agree, Cruz was advising House freedom caucus on dumping Boner. Cruz was lectured by Paul that he was so hated for going against Turkey Neck McConnell he couldn’t get anyone to bring up his bills for debate.

This proves Cruz is paying a big price for trying to keep his promisses that got him elected.

Cruz has all the spine in a spineless Rino controlled Senate.

Well, the TV debates are a holdover from another era when that was the main way to see the candidates in action. The debates don’t seem to move the polls much as we have a constant news cycle that usurps them.

You think Donald wants to debate Ted, one and one?

I like Donald, but he saw what happen to that guy from the Sierra Club.

No one wants to go head to head with Ted. No one.

the central issue of the Republican primary as, who will stand up to Washington

That's more of a tactical issue.

It's the policy issues like immigration, trade policy, the deficit, that are central. For me it's immigration.

I think Trump has high places for Cruz...remember they talked before and after Trump announced he was running, and I’m sure he is letting the people know some more about Cruz...(staying back and not taking away from Cruz)...he would make a great Supreme Court Judge, a Great V.P or to take over the Senate as leader....

I just read some articles on Ryan Zinke, former navy seal, Montana Rep...he would make a great Speaker of the House...

Yeah, but when he had the chance, he failed to engage. I know he is probably used to real debate, not this stuff, but he should have known better.

You’re correct— what I find curious, is that everyone expects him to go after Trump for votes. Carson has 20% and is a much easier target. You get Carson’s votes, and then Trump is manageable.

Meaning they are supporting each other...remember they had meetings before and after Trump announced he was a candidate and yes, what was Cruz suppose to say?

Doesn't mean he won't debate him, just because the usual debate is mean and nasty like the GOPee and media and talking heads want it that way, these are two brilliant minds and they can actually talk like normal people...
