Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee withdrew Friday from the Democratic presidential race, further narrowing the already thin field of competitors facing front-runner Hillary Clinton.
Chafee, who has struggled to gain traction in the polls, announced his decision at a Women's Leadership Forum conference where other candidates also were speaking.
"After much thought I have decided to end my campaign for president today," Chafee said, while reminding the audience of his "prosperity through peace" campaign slogan. Appealing for less U.S. military intervention abroad, he said: "I would like to take this opportunity one last time to advocate for a chance be given to peace."

Who?
Well, that’s a big loss to the process. /s
all he is saying is give peace a chance. isn’t that sweet?
Clearing the decks.
Two down just this week.
He’s a major league weasel, but you have to give him one thing: He was the only one in the debates to actually say anything: “I don’t have any scandals”. This was the only challenge to Her Highness, albeit oblique. God save our republic.
The “dog ate his homework” candidate...
Between Clinton and Sanders, who will pick up the combined 0% of democrat voter free agents now that Chaffe and Webb are gone?
The Rats should have planned the timing a little better—Holding off a few more days, at least.
Two casualties in one week does cause eyebrows to go up.
Good, the Chafee’s have been ruining Rhode Island for decades.
Rhode Island has been self destructing for the last 120 years a, at least.
So I assume he will be entering the Republican 2016 race.
2 in one week is something.
Absolute moron......what a joke!!
Wow, two non-contenders out in the same week. My old idiot governor Owe Malley is the only non-Bernie alternative to Herself left... Maybe he’ll see a surge in the polls.
Nah.
O’Malley will double his support if you add in zero percent...
You know... that guy in the debate that looks like Red Skelton.... :)
Watter's world has a new topic:):):)
The genius people on Watter's world will all have valid reasons why someone they never heard of, dropped out of a race they never knew about.
Stinkin’ Lincoln gone? It looks like the ‘rat battle might come down to the “independent” v the “progressive”. /s

John Boehner should contact the DNC and see if there’s still time left to sign up for the campaign. He work as a Democrat speaker of the house should give him some credibility with the socialists. In fact, Mitch McConnell could be his VP. Hell, they can campaign against Hillary by PROVING they’ve done more for the socialists than she has.
