Obama’s Science Czar: ‘Man-Made’ Climate Change Endangering Shrimp, Lobsters, Crabs

President Obama’s top science and technology adviser warned that man-made climate change is putting shrimp, lobsters, crabs and oysters at risk.

John Holden, the director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, said at a White House-sponsored event that some of the excess carbon dioxide dissolves in seawater to form carbonic acid.

Vice President Joe Biden, who also addressed the summit, said there would be “winners and losers” as the U.S. transitions to a sustainable energy source.

“This puts at risk all of the marine organisms that make their shells from calcium carbonate including shrimp, oysters, lobsters, crabs and many of the zooplankton near the base of ocean food webs,” Holdren said at the White House’s Summit on Climate & the Road through Paris: Business & Science. “We know too that climate change will continue for many decades to come.”

According to Holdren, the “pace and pattern of the changes in climate” that have occurred since the industrial revolution match with “great fidelity” what climate science told us would result from the buildup of heat-trapping gases in the atmosphere.

Gotta save the oysters and crawdads. No doubt we're all gonna die. (death rate world wide still remains 100%!) But I don't think we need to be concerned. I saw a clip from NatGeo about an up coming show with bill nye the dumbass guy and he's interviewing some assclown that actually says "I don't see there being any human life on the planet by 2030." WHAT? Crap. I had some plans. I hope I can get a refund on my deposit. Fookin' idjits.

Yo, Science Czar, if you actually give a damn about the environment and climate change, then what the hell do you have to say about all the crap that is being sprayed into our atmosphere?

“‘Man-Made’ Climate Change Endangering Shrimp, Lobsters, Crabs”

yet not whales, dolphins, fish, octopus etc. I never knew glowbull warming had pinpoint accuracy which specific species they target when they are all in the same sea...

“Vice President Joe Biden, who also addressed the summit, said there would be “winners and losers” as the U.S. transitions to a sustainable energy source.”

Winners = politicians, extreme liberals who have inherited wealth.

Losers = ordinary people - you, me, them over there.

sustainable energy source = brown outs, black outs, extreme energy bills, very high food prices, misery for all but the very rich (the inherited wealth trust-funders who pay little or no Federal tax, but support your misery so they can feel good).

Holdren, you ignorant nitwit, lobsters, crabs, and shrimp don't make their shells from calcium carbonate, but from chitin -- a protein / amino-sugar type of material similar to hair and fingernails.

It's clams, mussels, scallops, oysters, and snails that make their shells from calcium carbonate.

Also, carbonic acid in the water isn't going to dissolve calcium carbonate because calcium carbonate is a salt of carbonic acid. You would need a stronger acid or one that produced a soluble salt to do that.

Idiot doesn't know his chemistry, doesn't know his biology, but he's supposedly making policy and the idiot-media hangs on his every word.

His acclaim to fame:

Holdren was involved in the famous Simon–Ehrlich wager in 1980. He, along with two other scientists helped Paul R. Ehrlich establish the bet with Julian Simon, in which they bet that the price of five key metals would be higher in 1990. The bet was centered around a disagreement concerning the future scarcity of resources in an increasingly polluted and heavily populated world. Ehrlich and Holdren lost the bet, when the price of metals had decreased by 1990.

and more likely after commercial fishermens’ livelihoods again. Fishing is evil to those same people, the warmists, the changers.

Destroying livelihoods and families is the fun game they play, they do not care since their wealth is inherited and virtually nontaxable as it is seemingly unlimited.

You are a climate change denier.

When you graduate from re-education camp you will no longer spout your dangerous anti-agenda “facts”.
