Defending himself against charges he lacks the energy to serve in the White House, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson shared some anecdotes from his rough-and-tumble youth. I am soft-spoken, Carson told NBCs "Meet the Press" in an interview broadcast Sunday morning. I do have a tendency to be relaxed. I wasnt always like that. There was a time when I was, you know, very volatile. But, you know, I changed.
As a teenager, I would go after people with rocks and bricks and baseball bats and hammers, the retired neurosurgeon said. And of course, many people know the story when I was 14 and I tried to stab someone. And, you know, fortunately my life has been changed. And Im a very different person now.
Carson, who grew up poor in Detroit before becoming a world-renowned surgeon, has opened up about these incidents before. The person he tried to knife was his friend. And the recipient of the hammer attack threat was his mother.

Yes, Carson is a mentally stable conservative worthy of the presidency. Not.
I think Dr. Ben was smarter when he avoided Donald’s obvious baiting. Now Carson is reminding the public of unsavory qualities he may not wish to highlight. Donald has been verbally poking Ben with a stick for days. He may wish to goad Carson into blurting out something that is as unsettling as it is offensive. This also works at taking Carson off message for a while.
The knife attack was because his bud was teasing him. He plunged the knife into his bud's abdomen according to one site. Another says the knife broke when it hit his bud's buckle.
Regardless, those were both "deadly" acts.
Divide and conquer.
“”Think about this,” he told “Meet the Press.” “During slavery — and I know that’s one of those words you’re not supposed to say, but I’m saying it — during slavery, a lot of the slave owners thought that they had the right to do whatever they wanted to that slave. Anything that they chose to do. And, you know, what if the abolitionist had said, you know, ‘I don’t believe in slavery. I think it’s wrong. But you guys do whatever you want to do’? Where would we be?”
I thought he was GOOD COP. hummm maybe Trump and him switch back and forth.
Such minor insignificant non-violent incidents. He's changed.☺
Tried? We don't need this incompetent in the White House.
He threatened his mom!?
What the...
I bet the thousands of people whose lives he saved would disagree with you.
This goes a long way to explaining why he said he would not have shot Michael Brown. Gentle Ben and the Gentle Giant have a lot in common.
I don’t really care, man.
I won’t be voting for Ben Carson.
Hmmm, yes. That is a valid point.
So, you don’t like Dr. Carson. May I ask why?
I am opposed to his candidacy because he is pro amnesty and anti 2nd Amendment.
Both of those are immediate deal killers.
Beyond that, I do not believe that his demeanor is suitable for the office. He isn’t the type of person that I am looking for.
Maybe he fits other people’s needs in that regard, but not mine. I am looking for someone who is harder to be perfectly frank.
And lastly, a little while ago, I found out that he threatened his mom with a hammer.
I love my mom.
That’s not cool what he did, even if he was 14. Something wrong with that.
But, full disclosure, I wasn’t a Carson supporter prior to learning that detail of his life.
I can't take eight more years of the "slavery is responsible for everything" line-o-chit.
