Rush’s discussion is interesting because the biggest push-back he got way back in the day (80’s sacto) was from the GOP who made it clear that Rush Limbaugh didn’t represent their opinion. He was considered a fringe kook by the ‘R’ establishment. Liberals just ignored him back then thinking he was just a flash in the pan.

I like how he phrased it. Finally, the GOPE got flushed out, and they couldn’t hide behind the Democrats. They got flushed out, and were exposed for the frauds and cowards they were. We smelled a rat with Trent Lott when he was eager to “share power” with Tom Daschle. Finally, we see the rat and have no doubt with McConnell and Boehner. And Mitt laments this!

Once became influential, Rush did have somewhat of a relationship with certain GOP Establishment figures. I think he visited the Bush White House more than once, and has often interviewed Cheney.

But I have noticed that in the last few years in particular there has been a growing rift between Rush/much of Talk Radio and the traditional GOP political class. This reflects what’s happening with the electorate.

Not long ago he had a long interview with Cheney and his daughter, hyping her worthless book. Horrible, boring, shameless promotion with nothing of substance. Payback for Cheney, I guess.
