“Even the ones making money —like The Martian — are horrible. Hollywood is really running out of gas.”

All you have to do is look at who is financing these films.

The liberal ones like “Truth” and “Jobs” get $30 Million dollars each thrown at them by rich libs who want to be with the “in” crowd.

The real Hollywood financiers now won’t finance anything that doesn’t have a bunch of big name stars, or is a remake that made tons of money in a previous life.

How many Spiderman” and “Batman” reboots have their been?

Actuarial Accounting has taken over the movies. Certain plot themes, actors, plot twists are all known quantities and ‘guarantee’ specific box office revenues according to the actuaries. So a movie about blowing up the Kremlin, with Bruce Willis and a few other name actors and with plenty of explosion specific CGi is a guaranteed financial success but not necessarily an artistic success.... Its all about the $$$ and the fear of failure of the corporate moguls and their minions.
