Agency won’t give GOP internal docs on climate research
The Hill ^ | September 28, 2015 | Timothy Cama

The federal government’s chief climate research agency is refusing to give House Republicans the detailed information they want on a controversial study on climate change.

Citing the confidentiality of the requested documents and the integrity of the scientific process, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said it won’t give Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) what he recently subpoenaed about the research.

At the center of the controversy is a study that concluded there has not been a 15-year “pause” in global warming. Some NOAA scientists contributed to the report.

Skeptics of climate change, including Smith, have cited the pause to prove that increased greenhouse gas emissions, mostly from burning fossil fuels, are not heating up the globe.

Yeah, scientific data is so often kept confidential.

This from the most transparent administration in history.

Do we need this? Can it not be left out of the next budget?

I mean, if we actually had any Republicans in the GOP?

What’s the difference between a Republican and the GOP?

That agency is going to get talked at.

They might even write them a letter and use caps lock.

If our taxes paid for it, then we, through Congress if necessary, are entitled to see it.

The most basic principle of modern science is that you provide the evidence for your conclusion, so other scientists can check it out.

These guys are all corrupt liars.

I can honestly say that I have never seen so much corruption and lawlessness by an administration as I have in the last few ears.
Also include how corrupt the media is too.

...the integrity of the scientific process...the integrity of the scientific process relies on complete transparency in what goes on so the validity and reliability of the findings can be determined - these people know nothing about the scientific process.....

This is complete crap. If they used my tax dollars to falsify their research then I have a right to see it.

Thermometer readings are classified now? First I’d heard. Must be pretty classified, too, to defy a Congressional subpoena. This is, after all, the “most transparent administration in history” and if we don’t believe that, we’ll just have to trust them.

Since most (all?) of the studies are running on govt. money - time for a contract item that makes all communications, software and data public property.

This will enhance, not hurt, the “scientific process”.

He who pays the piper...:^)

And they know it. Otherwise they'd produce the d*mn document.

I’m just being a smart-aleck. The GOP is the Republican Party of course, but it seems like they all vote like Democrats.
