In twenty years he’s never had an American born ‘kid’ walk in and ask for a job as a porter, dish washer, or a prep cook. Perhaps if the cheap labor express didn’t allow people from other countries to work at slave labor rates, and perhaps if people collecting welfare were told to take one of those low skill jobs in order to get some type of benefits, then you’d have all kinds of American born people asking for those jobs.

When I was 15, I was cleaning the toilets, washing kitchen floors, cleaning and restocking the bars, and doing the function set ups for a midsize hotel-lounge-restaurant ... I earned $5.00 / hour ... I had to clean up puke, crap, and bloodied tampons (I soon discovered that the women are more of a pig in bathrooms than are the men)

It was a job - and I earned every dollar of my paycheck. The only “benefit” was we could get a “free meal” during lunch break ... And all the leftover pastry you could eat in those function rooms!
