Assad’s family protected the (coptic) Christions for a couple of generations.. That family was the closest we had as a friend in Syria.

May not have been a halo inducing leadership, but they kept peace between all of the factions for a couple of generations...

“...because US media does not report the news.”

Amen. The US media is either deliberately ridiculous or hopelessly stupid.

Either way, it is controlled as much as any regime.

This is the stuff of conspiracy. And I believe it. WHO thinks this is a good idea? One tiny fraction of the McCainiac wing of the GOP, the war mongering chicks in the Obama White House and about 5% of the nation. This is New World Order stuff that was rejected a couple of years ago. Now, it returns with the added issue that it could lead to combat with Russians.

I wish some of the cannon fodder would publicly resign before taking part in this illegal action.

It’s well past time for the military to tell Ozero to go away and just let them handle this. Given the choice, I’m sure most of the Pentagon brass would prefer to join with Putin to just end this thing. I wish they’d just do that and tell the White House to suck an egg.

Hate to break it to you, but the brass is dominated by PC yes men who are busy integrating girls into the special forces and preparing transgender bathrooms on our bases.

This all started when they forced chicks into the service academies, IMHO.

Perhaps this will calm a few who fear we are about to get into a shooting war with Russia. The link below carries the title “Syria conflict: Russia warns US of ‘proxy war risk’.” Russian Foreign Minister said the following after meeting with Kerry and others: Mr Lavrov said the US had decided on its move “unilaterally and without any reference to the Syrian leadership”. He added: “I am convinced that neither the United States nor Russia of course want any kind of slide into a so-called proxy war. But to me it is obvious that this situation makes the task of co-operation between the militaries even more relevant.”

So it sounds as though we did get the Russian’s attention with this move. Personally, I think Putin just wants to not appear irrelevant rather than to get into any nasty, costly war with the US. We all need to remember the Spanish Civil War to avoid those mistakes. Since the Russians were fully engaged in Spain, they probably learned those lessons better than we did.

This link has more than a dozen additional recent links about the Syria and/or Russia situation. Plan to read more tomorrow to sharpen my conjectures.

Ozero has purged out a lot of patriots. But there are a lot left. Look to the colonels, not just the generals.
