The premise behind "Make America Great Again" is that the country is no longer great. It can be great again, and the campaign has a certain can-do billionaire in mind as the guy to make that happen, but at the moment, the leading contender for the nomination of the party that regularly touts the notion of American exceptionalism is arguing that the country ain't what it used to be.

You travel in foreign countries you will constantly hear America referred to as a has-been nation. Korea and China just entered into a series of economic treaties to jointly market their goods. Essentially, Korea just dissed the U.S. and threw its lot in with China (no TPP). Japan is also about to join in, also dissing the U.S. Do you hear anything about this in the corrupt Democrat media in the U.S.? No.

As someone about Trumps age, I find it easy to believe his explanation as to why he’s running.
I’ve agonized over the America we are leaving for my own children and grandchildren to live in and raise their families in. Most Freepers here probably feel the same way.
America hardly resembles the one I grew up in. It’s but a shadow of its former self, with freedoms, successes, and with respect from our friends, and fear of us by our enemies, all but non-existent.
Trump said he was running so that his family wouldn’t look at him, knowing he could have fixed it, but didn’t.
His own story of building the Trump Organization shows that he knows how to build great empires. Now he wants to make all of America great again.
I think we are but the lucky side beneficiaries.

What is lost is lost. That's true, which is why we have to build something better, so it won't be lost as easily.
Thank God America is awakening.

Yes, this is just another pointless shot at Trump.
Hunters call this the "Go to HELL" shot.
Taking a shot at something that is obviously out of your range, but your so angry and you just want to fire one off anyway.

[Trump] really believes we can make America great again, and Iâm not an optimistic person, but I think he can, because heâs got a built-in ability to use the media, just like Obama
No, dear. That would be just like Reagan. Obama has no skill at using media. Without a teleprompter, the man couldn’t answer the phone. Media prostates themselves at his feet, uncritically. Obama’s only talent is speaking in vacuous, meaningless terms that are a Rorschach for his deluded followers.

I didn’t. That’s why there was a question mark at the end and not a period.

Pretty big jump by Rubio. Seems to have come mostly at Trump’s expense, though. Slight edge ahead by Carson... if he just went and took a nap for 6 months would he hit 100%? The sleepier he looks and the less visible he becomes, the higher his numbers go.

When polling sample is under 1000 voters, expect couple of points up and down within margin of error.
What I am taking away from debates is that people have pretty much made up their minds on who they like, and a zinger here and there is not going to move the needle all that much.

Exactly. If it were closer, it would be a game changer. Very rarely does one shot win the war.
