I do not understand the need to tear down civilization with these people...what is it about the average americans life that is so horrific to these people?

Just like the Socialist Left Islam has to tear down our culture, destroy it so they can replace it with theirs. All vestiges of our society must be destroyed for either of those aggressors to successfully take over.
Same with any other culture of any other country. Europe, Asia, etc.
