Some primary schools and daycare centres in the region of Dusseldorf, Germany have renamed the Christian festival of Saint Martin’s the ‘festival of lights’ to appease the children of Turkish immigrants and newly arrived ‘refugees’.
The Acting Headmistress of Salesian Montessori Community School in Oberkassel, Nanette Weidelt, told the Rheinische Post that the new name had been adopted, “in order to facilitate integrationâ€.

I do not know if Germany has a Freedom From Religion portion of their constitution.
I can understand how the government there might be a tad bit sensitive to even the slightest religious bigotry.
As long as we never hear about “ramadan” (so as to avoid offending Christians and Jews)
Can we rename Ramadan to “Wussie Quasi-Fasting Period”?

In this country, Christmas Vacation at school has been replaced with ‘Winter Break’. Odds are if you looked at your local school’s website and calendar, the word Christmas will not be on it.

Strangely, they may have actually backed into the right answer here.
Hanukkah is also known as the Festival of Lights.
A few years after we moved I told our son that I will so regret not being able to attend our grandson’s first school Christmas pageant like we did when he was little. He then broke my heart by telling me that’s not done anymore. Christmas break was replaced with “winter break”.
We always have to play to the lowest common denominator and it’s gotta stop.
NEXT: All females are required to cover their heads completely and not be seen in public with a man other than her husband, as not to offend anyone.
All alcohol sales are banned along with pork.
Homosexuality is also banned.
Their you go Germany. Cower down some more.
And at my work they insist on calling the office Christmas party the “End of Year Party,” which is about the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. (State agency)
