I wasn’t voting for Rubio anyway. He is a good talker but I do not agree with him on some key issues.

One more snip:

Singer is the founder of a super-PAC that has the express purpose of turning the GOP pro-gay marriage. American Unity PAC's sole purpose was to encourage GOP support for gay marriage, according to columnist Frank Bruni in the New York Times,in part by helping them to feel financially shielded from any blowback from well-funded groups that oppose it.

what we need to do is remind people that the supreme court DOES NOT MAKE LAW

They may not have liked that one law in that one state, but that should not make THE OPPOSITE POSITION legal, new law, in all 50 states.

That state should continue to enforce the original law and ignore the supreme court as this is NOT ONE OF THE ENUMERATED POWERS of the federal government

The Supreme Court just ruled that concealed carry was OK in one state (overturned a ruling against it, I think) so NOW DOES THAT MEAN CONCEALED CARRY IS ALSO "THE LAW OF THE LAND" ??

The same way the declared gay marriage "the law of the land"?

You know, I thought I recognized that name.

Norman Braman is a Miami billionaire who also backed Rubio, but AFAIK Mr. Braman is NOT a liberal.

Sorry to see Rubio associated with Singer.

Mario writing off the conservative base?

Rubio turned his back on the conservative base as soon as they put him in office.

I have no use for him.

Is it the job of the candidate to police the beliefs of all his donors?

It's easy to forget that the Republican Party was never "conservative" at all. At its core, it's a party of big-government globalists who have no interest in upholding Constitutional law and traditional values. You can trace this all the way back to Abraham Lincoln's day.

The last 35 years have been an anomaly in this, because the conservative Democratic base that was rooted in the South and West was abandoned by their own party and had nowhere else to go but the GOP.

At least we can put all that nonsense to rest now. I have said many times here that I am a conservative, not a Republican ... and I've never had ANY party affiliation.

Rubio is a big government liberal who occasionally talks a good game. Gay “marriage” is an oxymoron, Amnesty is rewarding lawlessness, and gun grabbing is the quickest way to start our second Civil War. Rubio is untrustworthy on all three issues. There is no situation in which I would vote for him.

Rubio is FOR SALE. That’s why the big guy made his down payment. Rubio is NOT a conservative or a Constitutionalist. He is a closet Mitch McConnel.

As if we din’t already know. This is a sure sign he’s part of the establishment, something I felt since before he was elected to the senate.

Talks a good conservative game publicly when he needs to, but cozy’s up to the establishment off stage.

Rubio doesn’t care about the primaries. He is going for the GOPe and RNC endorsements to replace Jeb Bush who is looking rather like an embarrassment now. That is worth more than primary victories at convention time.

Same-sex marriage & your money

Wall Street CEOs open up about their gay sons

By Blake Ellis @blakeellis3

Hedge fund billionaire Paul Singer, CEO of Elliott Management Corp., said that before his son Andrew came out of the closet he would have rated himself "a solid 2.1" out of 10 when it came to accepting LGBT issues.

One night in 1998, when he and Andrew were at dinner, Andrew started asking Singer about his "views on homosexuality." The questions were asked in such a way that Singer began to wonder whether his son could be gay.

"[I reacted] with fear and nervousness, I worried about the health aspects ... grandfatherhood," Singer said.

He was determined to handle the issue carefully, but he wasted no time getting to the bottom of it.

The next day, "[Andrew] was walking in the door, and right there, [I said], 'Are you gay?'" Singer recalled. "He basically said 'yes.'"

Over the next couple months, Singer said his conversations with Andrew brought him to a 5.5 or 6 out of 10 on the acceptance scale. He eventually became a steadfast supporter of gay rights.

In 2012, he launched the American Unity PAC, which aims to persuade fellow conservatives to support same-sex marriage. He has actively supported same-sex marriage campaigns and makes large donations to LGBT groups.
