Speaking of Socialism...

I saw a You Tube where some Socialists took the Mr Sandman song and renamed it “Mr Sanders”

Here's what the lyrics should have been:

“Mister Sanders, bring me a dream
Make the fabric of Amerika Socialist without a seam
Give Conservatives and patriots the final Solution
And promote the AGW Scam and call it pollution

Mister Sanders, (ja vol?) bring us a dream
Give us Socialist Communism in the extreme
One is a tragedy, a million a statistic
I don't want to suffer under Obamacare when I am sick
Mister Sanders, I'm so alone
No should have any property to own
Please turn on your laser beam
Your plans are a nightmare to everyone sold as a dream

Mister Sanders, tell me a lie
That Joey Gobbels was quite a guy,
We've got the media in our pocket
Leftwing propaganda's more deadly than a rocket

Mister Sanders, give us someone to oppress
Our form of Socialist would not be like the rest
You've never tried it the way I prepare it
The media talks like a Big Government parrot
Please, please, please
Mister Sanders, bring us a dream”

Rich and wise are two different things.

Carbon is carbon; it does no harm to anyone and has always been around. The trees like it.

This is a push for universal control. In the end, that is the sole privilege of Jesus.

Stick to software, Bill. Maybe you need to go back to work also. Occupy your mind a bit.

Bill Gates:

“I got mine, how’s yours?”

So...

If Gates is REALLY serious about “globull warming,” he’ll forever eschew private air travel, purchase of petroleum products of any kind, sell his limos and ride city buses, sell all his real estate assets and conduct business only via virtual media.

No more riding anywhere in luxury.

No more Gulfstream flights to Davos.

And no more conducting business with those who do.

That is... if he’s truly serious...

Titie quote: World's richest man: Only socialism can save planet

In other words: "I've made mine, so all you proles just shut up, keep buying my products and don't you dare try to disturb me and my elite friends, you troglodytes!"

Moonbat Billy Gates in NOT the richest man in the world.

The net worth of Gates is less than $80 billion.

According to a thread here on FR on October 23rd, Spanish clothing magnate Amancio Ortega is the wealthiest man in the world, with a net worth of US$ 79.8 billion.

Mr. Ortega owns the European clothing retailer Zara.

The fool Gates worries about globull warming, which does not exist, and bashes the capitalist system which made him a fortune beyond his wildest dreams. What a tool.

I never occurs to these moguls to spread the wealth TO THEIR EMPLOYEES. A guy like Gates and Microsoft look for every way they can to cut out Americans and get the cheapest labor rates they can thru H-1b visas. If they wanted to redistribute why not start at home.

I sold off my Microsoft stock in the 90’s when they were pushing for more gun control at the behest of the Clintons and partying with the Clintons every couple months in Seattle.

So, Bill Gates wants a carbon tax. However, for it to be politically acceptable, it will have to be “revenue neutral”. Of course the pols will use the tax to increase revenues, but there would have to be some offsets in the income tax.

The problem with that is that libs like Bill Gates would whine because the carbon tax is regressive. But it has to be regressive ... that is the only way it can work. If only the affluent have to pay the carbon tax, its effect upon reducing carbon emissions will be negligible. It is even possible that that carbon emissions would increase with a tax if it only affected an affluent minority. If the carbon tax were set so high that it caused an affluent minority to reduce consumption by stopping discretionary air travel and changing thermostat settings in their McMansions and mansions, that could reduce energy demand enough to cause market prices (ex the carbon tax) to go down. If a majority of consumers were somehow exempt from the tax, the reduction in market price could lead to an increase in their proclivity to consume energy.

Unless it is regressive, which is to say flat, there’s little prospect for a carbon tax to achieve GHG reduction.
