What an idiot...
I saw a different picture, straight on front shot, and noticed how he carried the shotgun immediately. It’s the standard way to carry in competition or skeet shoots etc.
I never carried my single shot that way, it was always loaded and facing the other direction when over my shoulder, or over my arm pointed toward the ground when carried in front.
But Ted is doing it right.
Idiots don’t realize gun control means hitting your target...I always follow a couple of very strict rules..
1. There is no such thing as an unloaded gun. It’s loaded until I open the chamber and see for myself.
2. Never point it at anything you don’t intend to shoot. Ever.
3. Keep it clean an oiled. (and just because a little oil is good, does not mean a lot is better.)
4. Keep it out of reach of youngsters.
When carrying in the woods or competition always, ALWAYS keep it pointed in a safe direction, loaded or not.
The shoulder carry balances the rifle on your shoulder, controlling the firearm by a hand on the grip. Always keep your finger off the trigger and on the outside of the trigger guard. This is a good carry when walking beside or behind others. It is not a good carry if others are behind you.
When at a shooting range the correct shoulder carry for a break action shotgun would be with the action open, unloaded, barrel pointing down and forward, controlled by both hands.
