“He’s dead wrong about the pyramids of course.... it’s silly, uninformed speculation. On the other hand, this belief, however wacky, isn’t going to cost me money nor is it going to be the driving force behind some UN scam to redistribute wealth.”

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

This one belief of his may not cost you money - agreed.

But what else does he believe? Or what else can he be made to believe? He may be a brilliant neurosurgeon, but he obviously hasn’t thought through some other things, potentially critical things in regards to running for President.

That’s what really scary about Carson.

Built him up? No one denies his medical skills. Other than that, I’ve never heard anyone point out leadership, governing, or negotiating skills for Carson. He’s the only one who thinks his tool belt has anything presidential in it, and he can’t define those beyond “I’m a surgeon.”

Kind of a weird theory. Joseph had a dream..what was it 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine. So he saved up grain in the seven years of plenty. Which means the pyramids would have had to have been fully built at the beginning or at least sometime during the first 7 years. Doesn’t seem like enough time...plus the problems with storage. There are more practical ways to store it.

I was pretty out of my head late one night many years ago when I heard the truth about the pyramids from this guy:

What’s next? Do we find out that he’s into “snake handling” too? We clearly know too little about his belief system.

He’s right. Most of the bodies came from the actual burial tombs of the pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings.

Another note. The massive, damaged sarcophagus without a lid is only ASSUMED to be a sarcophagus. It’s just a square stone box on the floor, and like many other structures in the pyramid, we don’t really know what it was used for.

Folks, this is from 1998. Seventeen years ago.

Today we can use the internet to research Egyptian pyramids and get many thousands of pages of information at our fingertips. It wasn’t that easy in 1998.

FreeRepublic was in its infancy in 1998. If you talk to old timers about how different the site is now from 1998, the difference is huge (er, hugh — and series...).

Thinking that Dr. Carson’s theory regarding the Egyptian pyramids seventeen years ago is a big deal is falling into the media’s trap. Our side should know better. Really.

To store grain to eat.. No way, not enough room.

To store seed grain, maybe.

A few jars or jugs could hold valuable seed grain.

Good seeds would be, and still might be worth their weight in gold.

No liberal manipulation needed. The words came from his own mouth.

He’s the only one who thinks

That's why he's polling at 0%, because he's the only one.

“Odd how so many people think Carson’s personal theory on the Egyptian pyramids have any bearing on his bid for the presidency.”

Uh, not in the least bit odd: it goes directly to the heart of critical thinking ability, and it appears ol’ Ben is EXTREMELY deficient in critical thinking ability, pretty much veering into complete tin foil hat nutter territory.

How many OTHER unbelievably insane ideas does Ben hold that fly completely in the face of known facts and common sense? Surely his pyramid theory can’t be the only insane believe Ben has.

Yeah, he has such poor critical thinking abilities that he’s operated on the brains of children all over the world.

OH, man, I miss Gene Scott. I used to watch him on TV in Los Angeles. He was the Patton of Piety, the Newt of Numinous.

So Carson hasn’t learned a damned thing in the last twenty years? He continued to believe in pyramid grain storage up until at least this afternoon.

He doubled down just today. He was flat-out asked if he still believed it and he said yes. He then went into a bit of detail on the subject.

Absolutely correct. Dr. Carson hasn’t learned anything in the last 20 years. Undoubtedly he’s still using the same medical procedures and medications he was using 20 years ago. No doubt, he has no idea how to use any modern computing environments. He probably never learned to set the clock on his VCR and the concept of watching a DVD is well beyond him.

Why does it matter? So he has an odd theory about Egyptian pyramids. Do you think this is something on which he spends a lot of time? Do you think it impacts his daily life? Don’t you suppose he has more pressing things on his plate at this time? In the grand scheme of things, each one of us has things on which we are wrong. If this is the extent to which Dr. Carson is wrong on something, I’d say he’s ahead of the curve.

Given the success the man has had learning the complexities of operating on the human brain, I’d say if as POTUS he needed in-depth understanding of the purpose of Egyptian pyramids, he has the capability accomplish the task.

Using this as some sort of litmus test for presidential candidates is silly. Conservatives complain about the MSM and their gotcha questions. This smacks of the same pettiness.
