The only tribunal he has in mind is one run by elitist radical liberals. This would not even be a tribunal; it would be an extra-legal kangaroo court that arbitrarily targets whomever it deems to be “offensive” and dispenses ideology based “justice”.
You are right — tribunals like this can suddenly target anyone at any time for any reason. And that includes Ayers if he should express a “wrong” view.

I’d love to know why no one, in all the years that this pond scum has been spouting his hatred of all things American, has shot this SOB. Why do vile shells of human beings like Ayers and Soros get to live long lives, continuing to poison the world, while genuinely good people die young. It is, unfortunately, a truism that only the good die young...Ayers, Soros and their ilk will likely live past 100, though I wish that some decent person would graciously give them the opportunity to meet their Maker.
If you go down that road, you could find yourself and all your ilk indicted for crimes against humanity...once the Revolution comes.
If a civil war breaks out again, I wouldn't put any money on Ayers surviving more than a week. Michael Moore is another one.
Beautiful idea to indict Bill Ayres for corrupting the minds of school children with his work in educational philosophy.
Since our government declines to do so, a "people's court" should grab up Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dorhn, and James Kilgore, try and convict them and immediately shoot/ shovel/ shut up.

Good point. I have pondered many times as to why Bill Ayers is still walking around. Maybe its just because everyone feels he’s not worth the price of a bullet.
