“There are campaign operatives on this board posing as Freepers, aliasing themselves multiple times, and having conversations with themselves.”
You have great points here.
The storyâs original headline [on Politico], "Ben Carson admits fabricating West Point scholarship," has been changed to read: "Exclusive: Carson claimed West Point 'scholarship' but never applied."This says it all. They are making a big deal over the word scholarship and making it look like he has been saying he applied and received a scholarship. He has said on multiple occasions over the years that he only had $10 to spend on college applications so he only applied to one university - Yale - and was accepted. He has always maintained that he only applied to one university, and that he was told by Westmoreland at a dinner that he should apply and that he'd receive a scholarship to West Point. Now, is that hard to believe - that a young, talented, intelligent, ROTC, African American high school student, who had the qualifications to be accepted to Yale might be the type of candidate that a guy like Westmoreland would want to recruit to West Point during dinner?
