Congressman demands climate study documents as scientists warn of ‘chilling effect’
Washington Post ^ | November 6, 2015 | Lisa Rein

A nasty fight between a senior House Republican and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration over a recent climate change study is getting nastier.

The country's chief society of meteorologists weighed in this week with a letter to Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Tex.), warning the prominent congressional skeptic on climate change that his demands for internal communications and documents from NOAA "can be viewed as a form of intimidation" that could thwart federally funded research.

Thank you for referencing that article detective. As usual, please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

”. . . that could thwart federally funded research."

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Low-information meteorologists unsurprisingly do not understand the following. The states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend in the name of PC global warming issues. So the corrupt House should never have appropriated funds for such a purpose, and the likewise corrupt Senate should never have helped the House to pass related appropriations bills.

The ill-conceived 17th Amendment needs to disappear, and corrupt senators who help the House to pass unconstitutional appropriations bills along with it.

A true scientist would be happy to share their research. In fact, having met a few, it’s actually hard to shut them up about it.

A cultist would refuse to share how they got their information, or else they would couch it in meaningless terms and accuse the questioner of lacking faith.

Clearly, global warming is a cult.

In the 70s and 80s I participated in a scientific endeavor that made a significant alteration in a small corner of engineering and science. The first time I met the 'godfather' of this activity, I left his office with such a large pile of papers and data that I couldn't carry it all.

There were numerous skeptics of this activity (usually entrenched professors who's comfortable chairs and committees were threatened by something different from what they were teaching). They, too, would receive the same pile of information, if they were willing to carry it back. This flood of data prevailed, and now the textbooks all carry the newest information.

The same should be true for NOAA. If they truly believe their theories, they should happily flood the world with their data and information. It's obvious to me they don't.

” that could thwart federally funded research. “

GOOD!

Why should we waste another penny on the feckless, nonsensical, debunked Climate Change Hoax?!?!?!

This refusal by NOAA to cooperate is highly unprofessional.

We depend upon NOAA data for our weather predications.

For NOAA to refuse to provide requested data to our own government seems to me to be criminal. NOAA should have nothing to hide! What ever is going on?

Why is the country's chief society of meteorologists weighing in on this matter? Do they themselves view this request for internal communications and documents as a form of intimidation? Why?

Bingo! A true impassioned scientist can support their data and are ready to respond to scrutiny and challenges. "Please somebody care enough to challenge my data!" is a big part of their lives.

But we have been fed a lot of hooey by those who have abandoned their scruples. They shall atone.

"...that could thwart federally funded research."

Good.

Yeah...I kept looking for the downside to that outcome...but never found it. ;-)

Ummm someone needs to tell these ‘scientists’ they work for the government and aren’t allowed to have their own email server

We are going to SERIOUSLY chill your ass, you deserve every chilly degree we are going to pile on you.

Have you seen this? A real scientist (not some ‘ecologis’t who can’t do simple math) guy’s been studying sea level change from the late 1960’s... the man knows his stuff...

Wow, just wow! That really shows what we’re up against. Lying liars with money and an agenda. I just heard on Mark Levin’s show tonight something about an official in NY (only caught tail end) but it was about some law or legislation that would force us to accept the warming theory or be in violation of this law. I’ll have to listen on the website tomorrow to get the full understanding. (Did anyone else catch it?) The choke hold of tyranny is closing on our necks fast.

Thank you! Outstanding reference! Refreshing to read such a thorough study that contrasts the motives of computer modelers with real scientists! Alarming to see the level of corruption among the global warmers!

There's talk of using RICCO laws against us - - 'deniers'.... Scary times... Glad you liked the link...

Very interesting-and right in line with what other real scientists are saying-I would like to see them get together and call out the ones who are paid to produce computer models favorable to the ecoloons.

When I was going to college, the chicken little crowd was warning us of nuclear winter within 20 years or so that would be caused by humans-that hasn’t happened, either...
