When everyone hates everyone its hard to keep things straight
After hearing about the dust-up on O’Reilly’s show last night, I decided to tune in and watch it, anticipating it might serve up some good comedic “hack-versus-hack” entertainment.
It did.

The book sounds like trash ....The premiss being that Reagan was out of it during most of his presidency

Before that I went along with the liberal crowd (it was the thing to do) I never had any doubts about Reagan’s competency and I do not think that people in his administration doubted him either

I bought BOR’s first book and then stood in line to get him to sign it. It was so poorly written I never could finish it.
You might be right. But I do remember Will being pro Baker and pro Bush in 1980.
He likes to pretend he's a Conservative, and I'm not buying it. Would we praise Obama for praising Reagan? No. We'd see him for exactly what he was doing. Same with Will.

I just watched this exchange. I don’t like Will, but BOR was disgraceful.
As usual, he asks a question and then doesn’t allow a person to respond before he butts in and starts yelling.
BOR is a major ass. That is why I do not watch his Show.
You can’t slander someone in a book. If it’s printed it’s called libel. Slander is a verbal communication.

No doubt. You are undoubtedly correct with respect to the actual facts about Reagan.
But Will has Damaged the Franchise a bit. And that applies to both Fox and O’Reilly. It’s not generally good practice to throw rocks like that around Fox News.
But my respect for George Will has creeped up from 2 out of 10 to 3 out of 10.
I saw the dust up—I saw Bill’s hands were shaking—the paper he had was shaking as if Bill had a disease or something. Bill was really shook. That’s because Will was right on this one—Bill was sloppy in his history for a change. At least Bill didn’t call Will a “Pinhead”.
